Wild turkeys, deer, cattle, a garden snake, and gophers all stopped by to help celebrate Lisa and David’s wedding at the beautiful old hacienda, Rancho San Carlos. The amazing band had the whole room dancing all night, and even had the groom join for “Layla” and the bride and groom on stage for “Old Time Rock and Roll.”

As fine art photojournalists, we approached Barbara and Darin’s wedding with a vision that honored the unmanipulated, unposed style of the great masters of photography. Turning many of the photos to black and white enhanced this feel. The Flood Mansion is a spectacular venue in which we were able to capture the intimate moments of their special day, in an historic facility overlooking S.F. and the bay.

A January wedding. Shalyn and Richard at the Albion River Inn. Many of the decorations and favors were hand-crafted by the bride. Their wedding colors were Robins egg blue & burnt orange. Wedding favors were flags, planted succulents, a candy bar and cupcakes in a jar.

Nestldown is a beautiful venue tucked into the tall redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The ceremony site is framed by a trellis with a lake behind. There are some humorous touches with a topiary garden and small playhouse. A mini train can carry the bride and groom to the reception and guests for a ride around the property. A second pond teeming with coi is next to the reception “barn.” Thomas John catering is always about artistic presentation, great flavors, and attentive service.

Thunder and lightning took down a giant redwood tree at the Edgewood Golf Course where the reception was held, but couldn’t dislodge the wedding from its spot next to the lake. Canadian geese tried to crash the party. Groomsmen took a wake-up dip in the icy-blue waters.

Beautiful frames are an important part of the art on the wall. California wine country provides rich framing for grand wedding celebrations. The area’s exquisite food and wine help to make any celebration memorable.
